On October 31, 2024, Shanghai Taichu Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Taichu Bio”) received official correspondence from Dr. Dewi K. Rowlands, Chair of the Council of the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) International, congratulating Taichu Bio on achieving Full AAALAC Accreditation for its animal welfare program.

Taichu Bio underwent a comprehensive two-day AAALAC Site Visit by a team of experts in early 2024. During the visit, the team thoroughly evaluated the institution’s animal facilities, experimental procedures, personnel training, animal welfare management, and other relevant aspects.

The AAALAC accreditation is the first international certification obtained by Taichu Bio. This achievement signifies that Taichu Bio has reached international standards in the construction and management of laboratory animal welfare and ethics. Obtaining AAALAC accreditation is a significant milestone in Taichu Bio’s development journey. We will take this as a new starting point to continuously enhance our animal welfare management level and make greater contributions to global biomedical research.

About AAALAC:

AAALAC International is the global organization that assesses and accredits standards for the care and use of animals in research, teaching, and testing, requiring humane and scientifically validated treatment of animals in the bioscience and medical fields.
